The "Spring City Filled with Chinese Sentiment" and "Future World" International Youth Art Festival Series Activities Open in Singapore

The "Spring City Filled with Chinese Sentiment and Happy Spring Festival" series of activities in Singapore is a Chinese New Year cultural event that has accompanied local residents for over 30 years. To commemorate the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Singapore in 2025, the brand event "Future World" International Youth Art Festival of the Five Continents Communication Center of the State Council Information Office has partnered with Singapore's 32nd "Spring City Filled with Chinese Sentiment and Happy Spring Festival". Before and after this year's Spring Festival, both sides will launch a series of cultural performances, promotion of intangible cultural heritage and art works, and research and exchange activities around the youth group.


The "Spring City Filled with Chinese Sentiment" and "Future World" International Youth Art Festival are jointly organized by the Five Continents Communication Center of the State Council Information Office and the Singapore Chinese Culture Promotion Association, and have received honorary support from the Chinese Embassy in Singapore.

On January 9th, the opening ceremony of "Spring City Filled with Chinese Sentiment and Happy Spring Festival" was successfully held in Singapore's Sindh. Lin Congli, President of the Huaxia Culture Promotion Association, stated in his welcome speech that culture is the bond that connects people's hearts and the driving force behind social progress. Starting from this year, "Spring City" has taken on a new direction: combining the "Happy Spring Festival" event with the "Future World" International Youth Art Festival to create an international exchange platform for each other and young people around the world. Looking towards the future, the 'Spring City' event will contribute to the social and cultural development of Singapore in a more diverse and colorful manner, and showcase a wonderful cultural feast for everyone.

In his speech, Chinese Ambassador to Singapore Cao Zhongming pointed out that UNESCO has officially listed the Spring Festival as a representative work of the intangible cultural heritage of mankind, making it a global cultural event. This not only reflects the diverse and inclusive cultural values advocated by the United Nations, but also reflects the world's recognition of the spirit of peace, harmony, and harmony embodied in the Spring Festival. The Spring Festival in Singapore is not only a festival for the Chinese community, but also a vivid manifestation of Singapore's diverse culture and coexistence.

Singapore's former Minister of State and Chairman of the "Spring City Filled with Chinese Sentiment and Happy Spring Festival" Advisory Group, Tsang Sze sing, pointed out in his speech that since 1994, the "Spring City" event has grown year by year and has become a platform for cultural groups and artists from China and Singapore to interact and meet with various sectors of Singapore during the Spring Festival. This event not only enhances the atmosphere of celebrating the Spring Festival in Singapore, but also promotes cultural exchanges between the two countries.

In addition, Yang Qing, wife of the Chinese Ambassador to Singapore, Qin Wen, Chinese Cultural Counsellor in Singapore, Xiao Jianghua, Director of the Singapore Chinese Cultural Center and Tourism Office, Lin Qingrong, former President of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce, and Zhuang Weilin, President of Jinhang International Group, attended the opening ceremony. More than 400 guests and spectators from China and Singapore witnessed this grand event together.

At the event, Ambassador Cao Zhongming, Chairman Zeng Shisheng, and President Lin Congli jointly presented a certificate of appreciation to the organizing committee of the "Future World" International Youth Art Exhibition. Art groups from China and Singapore collaborated to perform various forms of cultural and artistic programs, including singing, dancing, instrumental music, martial arts, acrobatics, and more.

In the following month, young art groups from Northwest Minzu University, Fujian Vocational College of Arts, Jimei University, and Quanzhou Art School will bring exciting cultural performances to the Singaporean public and participate in exchange activities at local art schools.

In the cultural and artistic tourism exhibitions held at the same time, artists and inheritors of intangible cultural heritage from China and Singapore will showcase their rich and colorful artistic works and cultural products. Students from Chengdu University of Foreign Languages and Tianfu College of Southwest University of Finance and Economics assist in translation, explanation, and promotion work, facilitating the audience to better understand and appreciate these cultural achievements.
